On 14–15 June 2025, celebrations of the centenary of the founding of the Air Force Academy — one of the most important institutions in the history of Polish military aviation, widely known as the legendary School of Eaglets — took place in Dęblin. The Polish Aviation Museum in Kraków, represented by Director Tomasz Kosecki, proudly participated in this special event.
Director Tomasz Kosecki took part in the official Friday ceremonies dedicated to invited guests — representatives of the military, public administration, academic circles and cultural institutions. These ceremonies were not only an occasion for jointly celebrating the centenary of the Air Force Academy, but also an expression of respect for the heritage and contribution of the School of Eaglets to shaping the elite of Polish military aviation.
The culmination of the celebrations was the Saturday Science and Aviation Picnic, open to the general public. The programme was rich in numerous attractions: popular science lectures, presentations of innovations and technological solutions in aviation, stands of partner institutions, and above all — spectacular air displays that drew crowds of spectators.
Both aircraft performed dynamic flypasts, generating great interest among aviation enthusiasts and younger picnic participants alike.
The celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the Air Force Academy were not only an occasion to sum up the rich history of the Dęblin academy, but also a moment of reflection on its contemporary mission and future. As a Museum that documents and promotes the history of Polish aviation, we are proud to have been part of these events.
We sincerely thank the Air Force Academy for the invitation and for the many years of cooperation. Once again, we extend our congratulations on the anniversary and wish continued success in service to Polish aviation — in the air, on the ground and in the hearts of aviation generations.
