You can vote for projects aimed at, among others, improving pedestrian safety, drawing the attention of the younger generation to the importance of history and national tradition, broadening knowledge and skills in first aid, or purchasing AED defibrillators. The list of tasks approved for voting also includes projects aimed at organising creative integration meetings, meetings for people with disabilities, children, young people and seniors. A large part consists of sports, cultural and health initiatives. A total of 232 tasks will compete for votes: 42 region-wide and 190 regional.
Anyone who is at least 16 years old can vote. Małopolska residents have two votes: one for a regional task and one for a region-wide task.
Each voter has a maximum of 2 votes — but does not have to use both. If they cast only 1 vote — for a regional or region-wide task, it will be counted.
Voting starts on 15 May and runs until 14 June.
Every resident of Małopolska can cast their vote in whichever form suits them best. There are three options:
– electronically: via the Internet — on the website bo.malopolska.pl — the tool will be available from 15 May.
– in person: by casting a vote on a ballot card and placing it in one of the ballot boxes located throughout Małopolska (a list of voting locations can be found on bo.malopolska.pl)
– by casting a vote on a ballot card and sending it by post to the Marshal’s Office with the note “Civic Budget”
The results of the 7th edition of the Civic Budget of the Małopolska Region are scheduled for autumn — results will be announced by 1 October 2024 at the latest. The tasks that receive the most votes will be implemented by the Board of the Małopolska Region from 2025.
