3… 2… 1! We are starting the countdown to Polish Aviation Day, which will be held at our Museum on the last Sunday of August — 25 August. From today we will be publishing what attractions await you during this event.

Drones, a jet-powered rocket and a Mars rover

At Polish Aviation Day in Kraków, we couldn’t be without the best mechanical engineering faculty in this part of the galaxy — the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics at the AGH University of Kraków. You will meet student innovators who create amazing constructions, brilliantly combining knowledge gained at university with their passions and interests.

At the event, you will have a unique opportunity to step into the world of student motorsport — Formula Student by the AGH Racing team and the MotoStudent series with E-Moto AGH. AGH Space Systems will take you to space, presenting not only a jet-powered rocket but also the award-winning Mars rover Kalman, which has won multiple competitions in the USA. Project Hydrive will introduce you to eco-friendly hydrogen technologies used to power vehicles, while the team from AGH Drone Engineering will show you the fascinating world of drones.

Innovative and eco-friendly Solar Plane

Another “star” of this year’s Polish Aviation Day celebrations will be students from the AGH Solar Plane Student Research Group. Their unmanned solar-powered aircraft, Foton, will take us closer to the sun. This innovative prototype, with a wingspan of 5 metres, weighs just under 5 kg and is powered by 28 photovoltaic cells. We encourage you not only to see Foton up close but also to chat with its ingenious creators.

We look forward to seeing you!
