On Saturday 7 March, an exceptional publication prepared specially for Aviation Women’s Day had its premiere at the Polish Aviation Museum in Kraków — the album “Women in Polish Aviation. Biographies, Part 1”.
This is a bilingual publication (Polish-English) that brings to life the fascinating stories of the first Polish women pilots — women of extraordinary courage, determination and uncompromising spirit, who reached for their dreams of flying at a time when many considered it impossible. Their aviation careers began in the realities of the Second Polish Republic, and some of them took their first steps in aviation even before the outbreak of the First World War.
In the book you will find dynamic biographies of figures such as:
The stories of the women aviators have been enriched with a wealth of photographic material and descriptions of memorabilia and artefacts connected with their activities — preserved today in the collections of our Museum.
What is more — you will be able to see many of these extraordinary objects with your own eyes, by taking part in a mini outdoor game prepared specially for visitors during the Aviation Women’s Day weekend. It is an excellent opportunity to combine discovering history with great fun!
The publication is available in the museum shop and in the online shop of the Polish Aviation Museum.
We invite you to join the game, discover extraordinary stories and take home a unique souvenir from Aviation Women’s Day.
