On 24 February 2026, on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the death of the patron of the NIL Military Unit — Gen. August Emil Fieldorf “Nil”, a commemorative ceremony took place, during which a cooperation agreement between the Polish Aviation Museum in Kraków and the NIL Military Unit was also signed.
The ceremonial roll call at the NIL Military Unit began with the raising of the national flag and the playing of the national anthem. This was followed by the reading of a commemorative order and a flower-laying ceremony at the monument to the General. On behalf of the Polish Aviation Museum in Kraków, flowers were laid by the Museum Director, Tomasz Kosecki.
An important highlight of the day was the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Polish Aviation Museum and the Home Army Museum and the Military Unit. The document was signed by Tomasz Kosecki — Director of the Polish Aviation Museum, Jarosław Szarek — Director of the Home Army Museum, and the Commander of the NIL Military Unit, Col. Piotr Gomuła.
The aim of the established cooperation is to promote voluntary service for national defence, cultivate and spread the traditions and historical legacy of the Polish Armed Forces and the Unit, as well as protect the honour, dignity and glory of the Polish soldier and sites of national remembrance.

The signed agreement is an important step in building strong relations between cultural institutions and the military, aimed at joint action for historical remembrance and patriotic education.
