Our Museum has purchased a collection of memorabilia associated with the figure of Lieutenant Colonel Pilot Observer Felicjan Sterba. The purchase was co-financed from the “Expansion of Museum Collections — the National Museum Institute’s Own Programme — 2025, funded from the budget of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage”.

Felicjan Sterba was a commander of divisions and a squadron and deputy commander of the Kraków-based 2nd Aviation Regiment, stationed at the Rakowice-Czyżyny airfield, and during the September Campaign served as chief of staff of Aviation and Air Defence of the “Kraków” Army. Lt Col Sterba was a highly distinguished officer, a hero of the wars for Poland’s independence, a participant in World War II, and was decorated many times.
