On Monday, 17 March 2025, our temporary exhibition dedicated to the 1st Independent Parachute Brigade in Operation Market Garden was visited by Olivier Sosabowski, the great-grandson of the legendary General Stanisław Sosabowski. His visit was a symbolic tribute to the heroes of the Polish parachute forces who fought at Arnhem in September 1944, carrying out one of the most important Allied missions of World War II.
The exhibition presents the history of the formation and training of the Brigade, the profile of its legendary commander and the dramatic events of Operation Market Garden. Unique exhibits, archival photographs and participants’ accounts allow for a better understanding of the determination and sacrifice of Polish soldiers who fought for the freedom of Europe.
The exhibition is available only until the end of March! If you haven’t seen it yet, this is your last chance to learn the extraordinary story of the Polish paratroopers.
The exhibition was organised in cooperation with the 6th Airborne Brigade, which provided a number of valuable exhibits, such as:
This is a unique opportunity to see rare mementoes associated with one of the most elite units of the Polish Armed Forces in the West.
