Yesterday the Polish Aviation Museum in Kraków received a special guest. Richard Dajda, son of Narcyz Dajda, came to Kraków. Together with his large family, he met the Museum Director, saw all the exhibitions and took part in a short meeting to talk about the aircraft that holds a special place in his heart.
Narcyz Dajda was a pilot in the Polish Air Force in the West. He was also one of only two Poles who had the opportunity to fly the Spitfire SM411 — that is, precisely the one in the Museum’s collection. It is therefore no surprise that Richard Dajda wanted to see with his own eyes (and sit in the cockpit of) the aircraft his father flew. We are glad we could help fulfil this dream!
Also taking part in the meeting in the Main Hangar was the co-author of the book about Spitfire SM411, Wojtek Matusiak. Both gentlemen signed our copy of the book — thank you for the keepsake!
