During the May holiday weekend, our Museum was visited by a very strong group from Upper Silesia. Our friends from the Jerzy Tadeusz Widuchowski Military Technology Museum in Zabrze decided to spend these beautiful sunny days on… hard, intensive work in the service of restoring our exhibits!
In the spirit of many years of cooperation, they felt deeply obliged and proposed comprehensive conservation of the paintwork on the “Volkhov” missile system; free of charge, of course. Knowing their professionalism, we had no doubts in entrusting them with this task — and so, 14 people strong (!): management, staff and volunteers, they arrived and carried out “Operation Renovation“.
Additionally, they enjoyed it so much (it’s that special charm of Kraków) that they decided to carry out the same conservation work beyond the original plan for the “Neva” missile system. If not for other commitments, they might have tried not to leave and would have stayed at their workstations to this day.
We therefore extend our great thanks to the Military Technology Foundation – Little Army “Silesia Group” and invite all visitors to admire the beautifully restored rockets and launchers!
