We invite children aged 8–12 on an extraordinary aviation adventure, following in the footsteps of its pioneers! From 9 to 13 February 2026, the Polish Aviation Museum in Kraków will host the winter day camp “Pioneers of Aviation”, during which young participants will be able to discover the extraordinary world of aviation and the people who created it.
This year’s session is devoted to Pioneers of Aviation — people who dared to dream of flying and turned those dreams into reality. Fun will be inseparably combined with history, discovery and creative activity. Following in their footsteps, we will together answer many different questions, including: How did dreams of flying become reality? How did simple observations of nature lead to the first flying machines? Who were the famous Montgolfier and Wright brothers, and what did Czesław Tański contribute to the history of aviation?
It will be a unique opportunity to spend time in an interesting and enriching way, gain new knowledge and have great fun with peers. The programme includes educational activities and art workshops on aviation themes, team-building games and much more.
Every exhibit at the Polish Aviation Museum tells a separate story full of courage and great dreams of flying. During our themed guided tour, children will be transported to the early days of aviation, hear fascinating stories about the first flights and the people who blazed the trail, and will be able to solve special puzzles prepared for the occasion.
Flying is not black magic — it’s pure and fascinating physics! During these workshops, the youngest explorers will learn about different types of flying machines and then turn into little scientists themselves, carrying out simple, engaging experiments. With balloons, lightweight models and a powerful blower, they will investigate what makes things float in the air and how it is possible for aircraft and other objects to lift off the ground. These are workshops where science meets fun, and curiosity grows with every model launched into the air!
Pioneers’ Expedition is an exciting outdoor game full of mysteries and challenges! Children will embark on an extraordinary journey through time — divided into teams, they will solve clever puzzles and riddles, discovering the museum exhibitions from a completely new, amazing perspective.
During the Pioneers of Aviation day camp, our young participants will go on two excursions:
Large-format art workshops during which participants will be divided into three teams. Their task will be to jointly design and build a large aircraft model using cardboard and other available materials.
