We are very pleased to announce that the Polish Aviation Museum in Kraków is once again joining the partners of the unique Velo Huta project — a series of events promoting sustainable transport, a healthy lifestyle and discovering Nowa Huta on two wheels.
As part of the cooperation, our Museum has been included on the Velo Huta Trail map, as one of the most attractive places in the region worth visiting during cycling excursions. We have also been featured in the official Velo Huta 2025 guidebook (.pdf), which contains route suggestions and descriptions of exceptional Nowa Huta locations, ideal for exploring from the saddle of a bicycle.
The Polish Aviation Museum supports an active and eco-friendly lifestyle — our guests can count on cyclist-friendly amenities, such as bicycle racks and comfortable walking paths. For all two-wheel enthusiasts who wish to combine recreation with discovering the history of aviation, our Museum is an essential stop on the route.
We warmly invite you to a themed Velo Huta bicycle tour that will visit our Museum on 14 June 2025. This will be not only an opportunity to tour exhibitions with a guide, but also a chance to learn about the history of aviation on the grounds of the former Rakowice-Czyżyny airfield.
It is also worth planning to attend the Velo Huta Family Picnic, which will take place on 27 April (Sunday) from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM in Żeromski Park. Although this year there will be no traditional bicycle parade, the organisers have prepared a rich programme of attractions:
The event will be hosted by the well-known actor and presenter Piotr Wojdyło, with music provided by DJ Wake Up. Additionally, during the event you will be able to collect a stamp for the Velo Huta 2025 competition, whose participants have a chance to win attractive cycling prizes!
