Reading the Poetry of Jan Kochanowski Together

DATE:05 / 09 / 2025

The Polish Aviation Museum in Kraków has once again joined the nationwide “National Reading” campaign, aimed at popularising classic Polish literature and jointly celebrating national heritage.

The initiative was inaugurated in 2012 on the proposal of the President of the Republic of Poland, and since then it has brought together cultural institutions, schools, libraries and local communities around selected literary works every year. Through the joint reading of masterpieces of Polish literature, their relevance, timeless values and significance for national identity are highlighted.

The Polish Aviation Museum, together with soldiers from the befriended 8th Kraków Air Transport Base, proudly participates in this initiative, wishing to emphasise the importance of engaging with culture and literature in the unique setting of our exhibitions.

Participation in the project is not only an opportunity to engage with classic literature, but also a chance to build a community based on culture and tradition. Joining the National Reading initiative helps bring literature closer to successive generations, combines historical reflection with artistic experience, and builds bonds through shared participation in a nationwide event.
