Construction of the new “Heksagon” hangar is going full steam ahead. We encourage you to view the photographs from the construction site, which show significant progress. The structure is now covered, the side walls are standing, and interior work will begin shortly. The historic fragment of the original structure of Hangar No. 5, destroyed in 1945, has also been secured.

Everything is going according to plan — the construction completion date is July 2024.

Work is also progressing on the new exhibition that will be presented inside the “Heksagon” — a total of 2,613 m2 including a 665 m2 mezzanine! The exhibition “With the Wind and Against the Wind — Civil Aviation” is a display presenting the role and achievements of civil aviation in Poland. We continue to acquire new exhibits through donations or deposits from pilots and their families, collectors and aviation enthusiasts.

We therefore encourage you to donate memorabilia related to sport, passenger, agricultural, rescue or recreational aviation to the Museum, and in particular: sports trophies, photographs, documents, badges, decorations, uniforms and flight suits, as well as written memoirs.

The opening of the space to the public is planned for 2025. We are all eagerly looking forward to presenting nearly 40 unique aircraft, including gliders, and the new exhibition on civil aviation!

In 2022, the project received funding from the Government Fund Polish Deal: Strategic Investment Programme — Edition II in the amount of PLN 21.4 million gross. The total construction cost is nearly PLN 24.6 million. The own contribution and investment service costs amounting to over PLN 3 million will be covered by the Małopolska Region.

We also encourage you to read the article and watch the short video in which Director Tomasz Kosecki talks about the Heksagon.
