On 31 January 2025, the Polish Aviation Museum and the Home Army Museum signed a cooperation agreement. Both institutions are Cultural Institutions of the Małopolska Region, and the signed agreement strengthens their existing cooperation and opens new perspectives for the future.
At the headquarters of the Home Army Museum named after Gen. Emil Fieldorf “Nil” in Kraków, Dr Jarosław Szarek, Director of the Home Army Museum, and Tomasz Kosecki, Director of the Polish Aviation Museum, met. The discussions concerned the exchange of experience related to the management of museum institutions and the possibilities of implementing joint projects.
The signed agreement provides for, among other things, cooperation in promoting the history of the Polish Underground State and Polish aviation, support in organising exhibitions, and the exchange of experience in the conservation and restoration of exhibits.
Both institutions plan joint educational, scientific and exhibition projects, including excursions, study meetings and the sharing of historical materials.
Previously, the museums had jointly organised events commemorating Allied air drops for the Home Army and Allied aircraft shot down over Małopolska. Thanks to their successful cooperation, exhibitions such as “The Polish Underground State Against the V Weapons” were also created.
