The main attraction of this year’s edition was the 20-minute display by an F-16 fighter, which flew in from Kraków. At the controls of the multirole fighter sat the leader of the well-known Tiger Demo Team — Maciej “Slab” Krakowian. In the Nowy Targ sky, spectators could also admire the beautifully restored Yak-18 and Piper Cub, which are among the airworthy exhibits of the Polish Aviation Museum in Kraków.
Our stand attracted great interest from picnic participants, who eagerly took advantage of the museum shop’s offerings, where they could purchase, among other things, a unique book by Zygmunt Szermet entitled WWS-1 Wrona, published in the Museum’s new series — Acta Aeronautica Profile — a comprehensive source of information about this icon of Polish aviation and engineering.
Visitors also admired the proudly displayed Wrona glider and An-2 “Wiedeńczyk” on the airfield grass — airworthy exhibits that this time did not take part in the flying displays (unlike the Yak-18 and Piper Cub).
From our animators and guides, visitors could learn why it is worth coming to Kraków to visit our exhibitions and what cultural events we are planning in the near future.
During the picnic, in addition to our flying exhibits, as many as 31 pilots performed in 3 blocks of air displays. Among them were such stars of the skies as:
