Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Disappeared
French aviator, novelist, and poet Antoine de Saint-Exupéry disappeared during a flight in a Lockheed F-5B (a reconnaissance version of the P-38 fighter) over the Mediterranean Sea. The aircraft was probably shot down by a German fighter.
