The competition glider IS-1 Sęp, the first glider developed in Poland after the end of World War II, made its maiden flight. A glider in the IS-1 bis version is in the collection of the Polish Aviation Museum.
On this day, during a training flight near Zielona Góra, a twin-engine Let L-200 Morava aircraft crashed. Two pilots, members of the “Żelazny” Aerobatic Group – Marek Dubkiewicz and Sebastian Chrząszcz – were killed. The collection of the Polish Aviation Museum includes a Zlin 50 aircraft of the Żelazny Group and a Morava aircraft.
