An engine derived from earlier Gnome-Rhone 5K and 7K designs. It powered the Morane-Saulnier MS.225 fighter aircraft. Other variants of the Gnome-Rhone 9K engine family were used to power the Breguet Calcutta, Loire 70, Savoia-Marchetti S.73, SM.81, and Wibault 375 aircraft.
