The engine has 4 banks of 6 cylinders each and two superchargers. Due to its complex design, it was never put into production. This very rarely used configuration was successfully applied only in the British Napier Sabre engine, which was mass-produced during World War II and powered the Hawker Typhoon and Hawker Tempest Mk V fighter-bomber aircraft.
