J-5 Marco SP-VAC

This is a deposit belonging to Halina Gorszczynska.

A single-seat ultralight aircraft designed by
Jaroslaw Janowski based on his earlier
designs J-2 Polonez and J-3 Eagle. It had the same
layout as those aircraft with a pusher propeller, but was
made of composites, aerodynamically refined
and featured retractable landing gear like a glider,
flaperons, air brakes and Rudlicki’s butterfly tail.

The prototype, built at the Marco
Electronic company, was first flown in 1983. Production of
kits for assembly was undertaken by Marco-Electronic,
later renamed Alpha. Several dozen kits were sold.
