A cutaway view of the oil sump and crankshaft of the Maybach Mb III (Maybach IR) engine. The engine was used in the Hansa-Brandenburg KDW fighter seaplanes and in the prototype of the Zeppelin-Lindau V-1 sesquiplane fighter with a pusher propeller, designed by Claudius Dornier.
