One of the most popular German engines of World War I.

The engine was equipped with a dual carburettor with two intake throats and two float chambers, each feeding three cylinders. Valve timing was controlled by a central camshaft.

Used, among others, in the Albatros D.III, Pfalz D.III, and Junkers CL.I aircraft.
