A 4-cylinder inline piston engine with cylinders grouped in 2 blocks of 2 cylinders, developed and produced by Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft in Stuttgart as one of the company’s first aviation engines.

The cylinder blocks are cast iron, with an integral water jacket. The pistons are forged from steel. It was used in the Rumpler Taube aircraft.
