Samolot myśliwski Mikojan i Guriewicz MiG-21UM

The MiG-21UM was produced between 1971 and 1985. Over 1000 units were built. It differs from the previous two-seat version, the MiG-21US, in its equipment: the KAP-2 autopilot was replaced by the three-axis AP-155, and the ASP-PFD optical gunsight was added.

Between 1971 and 1981, Poland purchased 54 UM variant aircraft. They were withdrawn from service in 2003.

The specimen with serial number 516999349 was delivered to the Polish military aviation in 1981. It served in the 3rd Tactical Aviation Squadron. In 2001, it received a special “Snow Tiger” paint scheme. The aircraft was displayed at the static exhibition of the Radom International Airshow 2003.
