Colonel Pilot Tadeusz Prauss (1896-1940), elder brother of aviation designer engineer Stanislaw Prauss, was an officer of the Polish military aviation in the interwar period and a participant in the Polish-Bolshevik War. From 1934 to 1939, he was the commander of the 6th Aviation Regiment in Lwow, and in September 1939, he was the commander of aviation and anti-aircraft defence of the “Modlin” Army and commander of aviation of the Northern Front. He was arrested by the NKVD in Lwow, imprisoned in the Starobielsk camp, and shot in Kharkiv in the spring of 1940.
