Mikolaj Surmanowicz, a retired employee of WSK PZL Kalisz, built a human-powered rotorcraft at home between 1971 and 1973. It is a construction made of steel and duralumin tubes, with a wooden tail unit and a main rotor with a diameter of 2.5 m, weighing 17 kg. In autumn 1973 and summer 1974, the designer conducted its tests at the Ostrow Aero Club airfield, consisting of short hops, but a true flight was never achieved. Further work on the human-powered rotorcraft was halted by the designer’s death in 1975.
