Thousands of people visited the Łososina Dolna airport over the weekend of August 15-16 to join in celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Podhale Aeroclub. The Polish Aviation Museum in Kraków also participated in the anniversary celebrations. Director Tomasz Kosecki assumed honorary patronage over the event. The museum set up a promotional and educational stand, conducted workshops for children, and showcased its unique aviation exhibits.
The 70th anniversary of the Podhale Aeroclub was an opportunity to commemorate the achievements of an organization that has played a significant role in the development of civil and sports aviation for seven decades. Successive generations of pilots, instructors, and enthusiasts associated with the Aeroclub have contributed to the history of Polish wings, and its activities have become a permanent part of the aviation history of the Nowy Sącz region.
The Polish Aviation Museum proudly joined the anniversary celebrations. Director Tomasz Kosecki assumed honorary patronage over the event. From the stage, he offered heartfelt congratulations to the Podhale Aeroclub on its 70th anniversary and wished it continued success, aviation achievements, and reasons to be proud in the decades to come.

One of the important elements of the Museum’s participation in the anniversary was the publication of a commemorative album documenting 70 years of the Podhale Aeroclub’s activity.
This publication presents the history of the Aero Club, its people, its aircraft, and its most important events and achievements. It chronicles seven decades of the organization’s history, which has nurtured successive generations of pilots and built the region’s aviation tradition over the years.
The album was available for purchase during the anniversary celebrations at our museum stand and is now also available at the Polish Aviation Museum in Krakow.
Thousands of people visited the Museum’s stand in Łososina Dolna. We prepared workshops for children, where they could test their skills in mastering paper airplane folding, as well as build and decorate their own plywood model airplane.
Our booth also hosted numerous conversations about the history of aviation, museum exhibits, and events organized by the Museum. We are delighted that so many people stopped by to chat with our team and share their memories and interest in aviation.

The presence of the Museum’s flying exhibits was not only an attractive element of the celebrations, but above all a reminder that historic aircraft can be explored beyond the museum barrier. They also belong in the air – where their design, capabilities, and character can best be appreciated.
