On Saturday, July 4, 2026, the Polish Aviation Museum had the pleasure of participating in the outdoor event “Trails of Hope. Odyssey of Freedom – Tobruk 1941,” which took place in the Błędowska Desert. We were proud to partner with this unique event, which introduced participants to the history of the Battle of Tobruk and the combat trail of the soldiers of the Polish II Corps.
Historical reenactments, displays of military equipment, and a rich educational program allowed participants to better understand the fate of Polish soldiers fighting during the African Campaign of World War II.
Among the numerous attractions was the Polish Aviation Museum’s educational booth, which was bustling with activity throughout the day. The youngest participants enthusiastically built plywood airplane models, learned how to assemble paper flying structures, and tested their knowledge and observation skills with mega aviation puzzles. Older guests eagerly chatted with our educators about the history of Polish aviation, the Museum’s activities, and plans for the summer season.
The mobile museum shop, where visitors could purchase publications, souvenirs, and gadgets related to the history of aviation, also proved very popular.
We would like to thank the organizers: the Institute of National Remembrance and the Klucze Commune for inviting us to participate in this unique endeavor and for creating an event that attractively combines historical education with family time.
We’d also like to thank everyone who visited our stand, participated in workshops, spoke with our educators, and picked up something for themselves in the museum shop. We’re delighted that we could help promote the history of Polish aviation, and we look forward to seeing you at future events!
