On May 1, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., the exhibition hall of the Main Building of the Polish Aviation Museum in Kraków once again filled with sound—this time as part of a concert in the SONUS COLORUM series. The museum space, normally reserved for the history of aviation, once again became a venue for music.
That evening, the Polish Radio Choir—Lusławice performed under the baton of Dawid Ber, accompanied by saxophonist Marek Pospieszalski. The concert’s central theme was the dialogue between the human voice and the sound of the saxophone.
The concert program became a platform for a fascinating dialogue between eras, in which contemporary compositional thought was reflected in the mirror of the Renaissance tradition. The austere sounds of the a cappella choir provided the foundation for the saxophone’s expressive narrative. The audience was able to experience music as a space for reflection, silence, and concentration—but also as an intense, emotional dialogue.
A highlight of the evening was the premiere of Marek Pospieszalski’s composition “Apeiron – Song of the Abyss,” written specifically for this concert. The concert program also included other compositions, such as:
The program was performed by outstanding artists:
The concert at the Polish Aviation Museum proved once again that unconventional spaces can serve as the perfect backdrop for music of the highest caliber. The acoustics of the Main Building and the proximity of the historical exhibits created a unique atmosphere that highlighted the character of the program.
It was an evening filled with focus and musical intensity that will long remain in the memories of those in attendance. We thank the artists for this extraordinary experience and the audience for their presence and attentiveness.
This was another event at the Polish Aviation Museum as part of the Sonus Colorum series. Last time, the audience had the opportunity to discover the sound of the cello—a report on that concert is available at HERE.
