The Polish Aviation Museum in Kraków once again provided the setting for a unique musical event of the highest international standard. On Saturday, 11 July at 7.00 pm, the Main Building of the Museum hosted the closing concert of the 58th International French Horn Symposium, ‘Horn in the City of Kings’.
The International Horn Symposium ‘Horn in the City of Kings’ is the world’s leading event dedicated to the French horn, organised annually by the International Horn Society. This year’s edition was exceptional – for the first time in its history, it took place in Poland and Central Europe, having previously been hosted in North and South America, Asia, Africa and Australia, amongst other places.
The symposium took place from 7 to 12 July. During this time, Kraków became the world capital of the horn, hosting over 450 participants from dozens of countries, as well as leading artists, educators and instrument makers.
The grand finale of this prestigious event was a concert held on Saturday, 11 July 2026, at the Polish Aviation Museum. The Lubin National Wind Orchestra, conducted by Justyna Chmielek-Korbut, took to the stage alongside outstanding soloists representing the international music scene: the Czech virtuoso Kateřina Javůrková, the Portuguese French horn master Bernardo Silva, and the Brazilian ensemble Trompa Brasilis.

A joint performance by artists from the Czech Republic, Portugal, Brazil and Poland provided a unique musical finale to the world’s largest French horn festival. The audience gathered at the Museum rewarded the artists with a long standing ovation.
The inclusion of the Polish Aviation Museum in the programme of one of the world’s most important musical events demonstrates once again that its modern architecture and unique spaces are an excellent choice for events of international significance, combining technical heritage with culture of the highest calibre.
