Lindbergh’s Transatlantic Flight

American pilot Charles Lindbergh, at the controls of a Ryan NYP “Spirit of St. Louis”, took off from the airfield in Garden City on Long Island on the first successful solo non-stop transatlantic flight in history. After more than 33 hours, he landed at Le Bourget airport in Paris.

Maiden Flight of the PWS-3

Amelia Earhart Solo Across the Atlantic

American Amelia Earhart, the second person in history after Charles Lindbergh, began a successful solo flight across the Atlantic. At the controls of a Lockheed Vega, she flew from Harbour Grace to Culmore in Northern Ireland. The flight lasted 14 hours and 56 minutes.
