Maiden flight of the RWD-13 – on this day, the RWD-13 aircraft made its maiden flight. This versatile, easy-to-operate and fly high-wing monoplane with folding wings found use as an aeroclub, touring, liaison, and ambulance aircraft. Approximately one hundred examples were built, of which two survive today – one in Argentina and the other in the collection of the Polish Aviation Museum.
Edward Makula died, a Polish glider and powered-aircraft pilot. Known for his achievements in gliding – world champion and runner-up, four-time Polish champion, seventeen-time Polish record holder, holder of the Gold Badge with three Diamonds. Awarded the Tański Medal and the Lilienthal Medal.
