On this day, a government An-24W aircraft crashed while approaching Szczecin-Goleniów airport. There were no survivors; among the 18 victims were members of Polish and Czechoslovak ministerial delegations.

Maiden Flight of the Krokus
The SZD-52 Krokus glider made its maiden flight. This Standard class glider was based on many solutions and components from the Jantar 2 glider. Eight examples were built.
