First Flight Across the Pacific

On this day, the Fokker F.VII “Southern Cross” took off from Oakland, California, with a four-person crew. After stopovers in Hawaii and Fiji, the aircraft landed on 9 June in Brisbane, Australia, completing the first successful flight across the Pacific.
