First Tu-144 Scheduled Flight

The first scheduled flight of the Soviet supersonic passenger aircraft Tu-144 took place on the Moscow–Almaty route.

LOT Flight 016 Landing

A LOT Polish Airlines Boeing 767 flying from Newark to Warsaw experienced a failure of the landing gear deployment system. The aircraft safely landed on its belly on the runway at Okęcie airport. The captain was Tadeusz Wrona, the co-pilot Jerzy Szwarc.
