Higher School of Aviation in Warsaw

The Higher School of Aviation was established in Warsaw. The school operated until the outbreak of World War II. Its structures were recreated in England, where it operated from April 1943 to April 1946.

Maiden Flight of the Yak-24

The Yak-24 helicopter made its maiden flight, the only Soviet helicopter with a tandem rotor layout. The helicopter was powered by two ASh-82 engines. An engine of this type is in the collection of the Polish Aviation Museum.
