Maiden Flight of SpaceShipOne
On the hundredth anniversary of the first powered flight, the first private spacecraft, SpaceShipOne, built by Scaled Composites, made its maiden flight. This suborbital vehicle is also the first private aircraft capable of breaking the sound barrier.
