Challenge 1934

The Challenge 1934 International Tourist Aircraft Competition began in Warsaw, ending with the victory of the Polish crew Jerzy Bajan and Gustaw Pokrzywka at the controls of an RWD-9 aircraft. This was the last tournament in the Challenge series.

Maiden Flight of the “Flying Fortress”

The four-engine bomber Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress made its maiden flight. Over 12,700 examples of this aircraft, famous for its great resilience to damage, were built.

Komet in Combat
