The Challenge 1934 International Tourist Aircraft Competition began in Warsaw, ending with the victory of the Polish crew Jerzy Bajan and Gustaw Pokrzywka at the controls of an RWD-9 aircraft. This was the last tournament in the Challenge series.

Komet in Combat
The first combat flight of the Messerschmitt 163 Komet, a rocket-powered aircraft, took place. Five Komets targeted a formation of American bombers, none of which were shot down.
