The first aero club in Poland was established in Poznań, named the Polish Aero Club in Poznań. After this organisation merged with the Polish Aero Club in Warsaw in January 1920, the Aero Club of the Republic of Poland was formed.
The fibreglass motor glider J-5 Marco made its maiden flight. The airframe, designed by Jarosław Janowski, has the pusher propeller layout characteristic of his designs. The use of a V-tail is unusual. Over 30 Marco examples were built. One of them (SP-YAC) is on display at the Polish Aviation Museum.
