Maiden Flight of the Mucha Standard
On this day, the wooden glider SZD-22 Mucha Standard, the first Polish glider created to meet the requirements of the then-new Standard class, made its maiden flight. A Standard class glider had to have a 15 m wingspan, an unflapped wing, fixed landing gear, and could not carry in-flight jettisoned ballast.
