The first Challenge 1929 international air rally concluded in Paris. The tournament lasted 13 days, with 55 aircraft taking part. The winner was German Fritz Morzik flying a BFW M.23b.

Maiden Flight of the Osa
The SZD-7 Osa glider made its maiden flight – a modification of the IS-2 Mucha glider involving the use of laminar-profile wings. Only one Osa was built, and it was scrapped in 1957.
