Founding of PZL

The Council of Ministers issued a decree transforming the Central Aviation Workshops into Państwowe Zakłady Lotnicze (State Aviation Works). The first aircraft produced there was the French fighter Wibault 70, while the first design developed at PZL was the PZL P.1 fighter.

The IS-4 Jastrząb aerobatic glider, capable of reaching 450 km/h, made its maiden flight. 37 Jastrząbs were built, two of which are in the collection of the Polish Aviation Museum.
