Mid-Air Collision During Filming

Over Poznań-Ławica airfield, during the filming of an aerial duel scene for the film “Gwiazdżista eskadra” directed by Leonard Buczkowski, a Spad 61C1 and a Potez XV collided, killing the two-member crew of the Potez.

Maiden Flight of the Tu-95

The Soviet transcontinental bomber Tu-95 made its maiden flight. The aircraft has a range of 10,500 km and can remain airborne for 14 hours, with in-flight refuelling capability. By design, this made it capable of flying from the USSR over the USA. The Tu-95, known by NATO as “Bear”, is Russia’s primary strategic bomber.
