Pe-2 Crash in Poznań

On this day, in the centre of Poznań, a Pe-2FT bomber crashed in an incident covered up by the communist authorities. Three crew members and six people on the ground were killed, and probably several more were injured.

Maiden Flight of the MiG-23

The MiG-23 made its maiden flight. This variable-geometry wing fighter was capable of reaching Mach 2.35 and is the fastest aircraft in the collection of the Polish Aviation Museum.
