Tadeusz Góra flew the PWS-101 glider over a 577.8 km route from Bezmiechowa to Soleczniki Małe near Vilnius. In 1939, he became the first glider pilot in the world to be awarded the Lilienthal Medal.
The PWS-102 Rekin glider made its maiden flight. It was a competition wooden glider, launched from a jettisoned dolly and equipped with slotted flaps and an enclosed cockpit. Three Rekin examples were built before the outbreak of war.
