Westbound Across the Atlantic
Scottish pilot Jim Mollison, at the controls of a de Havilland Puss Moth high-wing monoplane, made the first solo east-to-west flight across the Atlantic, taking off from Portmarnock, Ireland, and landing at Pennfield Ridge, Canada.
