Maria Younga set two women’s gliding records for Poland – in altitude (770 m) and flight duration (6 hours 15 minutes). The second record was improved the following day by Wanda Modlibowska by 3 hours and 15 minutes.

Maiden Flight of the Tu-154
The Tu-154 passenger aircraft made its maiden flight. Fourteen aircraft of this type entered the LOT Polish Airlines fleet; two were used as Polish government aircraft.
