Curtiss-Wright Founded

The American aircraft manufacturer Curtiss-Wright Corporation was founded through the merger of 12 companies. The company’s production peak came during World War II, when Curtiss-Wright produced over 29,000 aircraft, 142,000 aircraft engines, and 146,000 propellers.

Zeppelin in Gliwice

The airship LZ-127 “Graf Zeppelin”, measuring over 130 metres in length, moored at Gliwice airfield after a demonstration circuit of the city. 200,000 people admired the arrival of the mighty airship.

Leopold Kwiatkowski made a 130 km cross-country flight from Tęgoborze to Wola Michowa near Łupków in the Bieszczady Mountains, reaching an altitude of 1,500 metres.
