The drop zone code-named “Sroka 1” (Ref. No. 5402/43) was located 19 km northeast of Nowy Targ. Based on available source data and information contained in the records of Section VI of the Commander-in-Chief’s Staff, it had no numbering and was designated as a bastion capable of receiving drops from two and three aircraft. Contact addresses for parachutists are not known.
The site was on alert: December 9–12 and 17–20, 1943, and January 9–12 and 17–20, 1944. An entry in the card states: “Flight No. 14/18/3 — OHIO 3, from Tapir base, Africa; circled for 40 minutes over the site area without seeing lights; noted single vehicle movement on roads near the site area; drop made at Rybitwa 1.”
