Will we manage to beat the record-breaking turnout of 2025 this year? With nearly 200 participants and over 450 models entered, the bar has been set incredibly high! Now it’s time to see if modeling enthusiasts will once again fill the Museum with their extraordinary, passionately crafted miniatures—registration for the “Aviation and the World in Miniature 2026” modeling contest is now open!

On October 24 and 25, 2026, the Polish Aviation Museum in Krakow will once again transform into a hub of excitement for scale modeling enthusiasts. We invite you to the latest edition of the “Aviation and the World in Miniature” competition—an event for anyone fascinated by aircraft, technology, history, and the art of crafting extraordinary scale models.

You don’t need to be a professional modeler. The competition is open to everyone, and participation is free. The only requirement? The model you enter must be built by hand.

What can be reported?

This year’s edition features numerous competition classes for participants. Plastic models include, among others, piston-engine and jet aircraft in 1:32, 1:48, and 1:72 scales, helicopters, as well as civil aircraft and gliders. Card models—covering piston-engine and jet aircraft, helicopters, civil aircraft, and gliders—also have their own place. Aviation dioramas constitute a separate category.

This means that—whether you specialize in plastic miniatures, paper models, helicopters, gliders, or elaborate dioramas—we are looking forward to seeing your models!

Entries will be judged based on factors such as historical/technical accuracy, build quality and craftsmanship, complexity, realism, and the modeler’s own creative input.

You can find detailed information regarding competition categories, criteria, and requirements in the REGULATIONS.

Youth, junior, and senior athletes – everyone has a chance!

The competition is divided into three age groups:
Young Competitor (up to 13 years old), Junior (14–18 years old), and Senior (19 years and older).

Medals and certificates will be awarded to the top participants, with additional tangible prizes for the Young Competitor and Junior groups. The organizer may also award special prizes and distinctions.

Not just a competition!

The event will be accompanied by a model fair, taking place on October 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on October 25 from 9:00 a.m. until the conclusion of the competition.

And the highlight of the entire weekend? The announcement of results and the award ceremony—on Sunday, October 25, at 1:30 p.m.

Do you want to go up against the best?

We are accepting entries until October 16, 2026. Each participant may submit any number of self-made models, but no more than three per category.

We warmly invite all modelers—both those with numerous competitions under their belts and those looking to test their skills for the first time—to take part!

After all, with over 450 models entered in 2025, there is only one question left to ask:

How many miniature machines will we see this year? 500? 600? Or perhaps even more?…

Will you help us break last year’s record?
